KUDIBAL HISTORY
Kudibal was founded by Dea Kudibal in 2003 and the beautiful designs are now sold in 200 stores in 12 different countries. You can find Kudibal at Illum in Copenhagen, Le bon Marché in Paris, Isetan and Takashimaya in Tokyo and Neiman Marcus in the US.
Design combined with craftsmanship has been of great importance for Dea Kudibal since she worked for the legendary Danish theatre tailor Gudrun Gottlieb. All the original haute couture techniques and the spirit about creating historical or up-to-date dresses take craftsmanship and interest in details.
Along with her education at two renowned fashion schools in Copenhagen, Fashion Management and Business at The London College of Fashion and a job as designer in London, the love for design and craftsmanship has given Dea the background for her company Kudibal.
Dea Kudibal is therefore the craftsman, the designer as well as the businesswoman behind Kudibal.
The philosophy behind Kudibal is to design feminine clothes with "an edge" which can be used for many different occasions.
Dea's inspiration for the collections comes from working with the materials herself. She crotches, knits or sews together the yarns to find out what to create; are they better for a shawl or a cardigan. Dea always uses natural fibres such as wool, cashmere, silk, cotton, viscose etc. and in her collections you will find unique prints, fine knitwear as well as beautiful colour combinations.
